Happy Half Birthdays
We had Kai’s half birthday celebration yesterday and Lucy’s this evening. Somehow, we started the tradition of singing, “Happy Half Birthday to you!” with a half a cupcake and candles. Kai and then Lucy had no idea why this tiny cupcake with candles was coming at them in song, but they quickly got the idea and blew out the candles before devouring the cupcake. It’s funny how these quirky family rituals get started and wonder how/if they’ll continue. Kai is very much 2.5 and Lucy is 3.5 going on 20 in some areas and 3.5 going on 12 months in others. But as a mom, to mark these half birthdays means looking back at pictures and journals from 6 months ago and digesting their incredible development that has happened in just 6 months. Lucy has grown more than 2 inches in that time and has gained 5 pounds, has learned a new language, met Santa Claus, ridden a horse, and knows how to change the ring tone on my iphone. Amazing!
It really is amazing and thank you for shareing all you do on this Blog! Lucy is just blossoming! The White Swan almost seems like a lifetime ago now... well except for Peter. I bet Will still has nightmares of the three of us (Peter, Will and I) in the Lobby trying to figure out what paperwork Peter was yelling at us to get out and we where never quick enough!
